I believe the world will be a more harmonious place when we pool our resources and distribute them according to our needs. How? With a marketplace where we lend and borrow everything as we please with neighbors, friends, and strangers — for free or a fair fee. Sure there are some things you want to own but for everything else, why buy when you can borrow!

Just think about it,

Have you ever lent something to someone and never got it back or got it back damaged?

Or have you ever experienced the awkwardness of asking someone to borrow something?

Or how many times have you felt the remorseful feeling of buying something interesting and useful only to use it a handful of times and now it just sits on the shelf, under the bed, or in storage? Too many times I assume.

These are just symptoms springing up in your life but the illness is systemic in our society. The world has been moving in this direction for hundreds or thousands of years. And it’s gotten to the point where people are trained from their childhood to endlessly buy more and more things and conditioned to distrust other people, especially with their mass-produced prized possessions — too bad it’s killing the environment, stealing their happiness, and destroying the fabric of our society.

The fact of the matter is, there is more than enough for you and everyone else but there’s got to be a better way to coordinate it all. We live in the future it’s time we start acting like it.

And that’s where Livelihood comes in. Now you can use what you need when you need it. From ladders to dresses, electronics to toys, kayaks to private jets —Whether the thing you need is in the inventory or not, all you do is tap a few buttons and the right people are notified with your request!

But make sure you take care of these things as if they were your own. Because just in case you borrow something and break or lose it, thanks to the signed rental agreement, before and after photos, and a credit or debit card on file, and other features — your account may be charged to cover the loss.

Frankly, the goal is to contribute to a better world through a counter-culture community of collaborators instead of competitors who prioritize people and experiences over possessions in order to make the most of our resources and inject more purpose and meaning into everything that’s produced. It’s the next logical step towards our things working for us instead of us working for our things — its a few small swipes and taps for man, but a giant leap for mankind. It’s just a better way of doing things.

Like ride-sharing but for everything, like a cross between a public library and a shopping mall, or as a child might explain it; “My toys are your toys and your toys are my toys but mom and dad aren’t forcing us to share if we don’t want to”

So, here’s how you can be part of the solution.

Remember, every time someone joins Livelihood the net worth of the network goes up. So:

(1) Download the app and Join Livelihood.
(2) Follow me and the project @joinLivelihood
(3) Invite that person you know will love this

And the next time you want or need something, resist the conditioned urge to purchase another single-serving item. Instead, think why buy when I can borrow? Instead, think Livelihood!
